The Colorado Avalanche visit Bridgestone Arena to take the ice with the Nashville Predators.
Colorado is just needing to get in the win column that will perhaps kick start them and get them out of their recent funk. That was the idea Friday but unfotunately the opponent was Boston and they are in the habit of putting teams in funks. There was no sympathy from the visitors who left town with a 2-0 decision in their back pocket. Carl Soderberg and Patrice Bergeron found the back of the net and Chad Johnson stopped 31 shots for his third career shutout. Semyon Varlamov was the tough luck loser with a 26 save performance.

For whatever reason it seems Nashville pulls on their big boy pants whenever they take the ice with Chicago. That trend continued when the Predators handed the Blackhawks a 2-0 defeat at the United Center for their third win in four meetings this season. Gabriel Bourque and Mike Fisher lit the lamp fror Nashville and Pekka Rinne took care of the Blackhawks attack with 29 saves earning him his first shutout of the year and number 31 of his career. Corey Crawford didn't see much rubber with only 15 saves in defeat as Chicago fell six points behind Central Division leading St Louis.
The over is 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings in Nashville with the Avalanche going 1-7 in the last eight trips there while logging a 4-11 mark in the past 15 head to heads. Tough one but I'll look for goalies and watch the line...
