The Pacific leading San Jose Sharks visit the Pepsi Center to tangle with the Colorado Avalanche.
I have said this before and I'll say it again and again but it's true...bet San Jose as big favorites and you are taking an unnecessary risk. That turned out to be true Thursday as the heavily favored Sharks fell to visiting Winnipeg 4-3 on Thursday. SJ had 1-0 and 2-1 leads but their defense and penalty kill didn't come through as Blake Wheeler, Andrew Ladd, Dustin Byfuglien scoring with Tobias Entstrom lighting the lamp with around three and a half minutes left to break a 3-3 game and give the Jets the win. Dan Boyle, Logan Couture and Brent Burns lit the lamp for the home team with 27 stops from Antti Niemi not enough while Al Montoya was the winner with 27 saves.

Colorado kept the pressure on Chicago in the Central Division following a 3-2 overtime decision over visiting Vancouver on Thursday. The Avalanche are one point behind the Blackhawks in what will be a heated battle for second going forward. Tyson Barrie was the hero with his tally coming just 55 ticks in to OT with Gabriel Landeskog and and Matt Duchene scored in regulation with Semyon Varlomov making 29 saves for the Avs who have won back to back contests. Zack Kassian and Yannick Weber scored for the visitors with Eddie Lack posting 25 stops who had won three in a row but are still five points out of the playoff race with seven games to play.
The home team is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings with San Jose is 1-5 in their past six trips to Colorado while the over has gone 5-1-1 in the last seven. I'm up in the air on this as I wait for goalies but I am not the best on San Jose games to be honest...
