The surging Los Angeles Kings host the Winnipeg Jets at the Staples Center in Saturday night NHL action.
Winnipeg has been up and down at times but there is no doubt they have been playing decent hockey since their coaching change. The Jets proved they are not to be ignored after upending San Jose on the road by a 4-3 count on Thursday. Tobias Enstrom tallied the game winner with just over 3 1/2 minutes remaining in regulation with Dustin Byfuglien, Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd. Al Montoya picked up the victory with 27 saves as the Jets won for the third time in 12 contests. Logan Couture, Dan Boyle and Brent Burns scored for San Jose with Antti Niemi getting the loss with four goals allowed on 31 shots.

The Kings east coast road swing was an undeniable success with wins over Washington, Philadelphia and lastly Pittsburgh 3-2 on Thursday. It certainly wasn't easy with the Kings blowing a two goal lead and having an apparent score denied on a replay. Jeff Carter, Alec Martinez and Drew Doughty did the damage for the visitors with Martin Jones getting the win with 35 saves to give his team win number five in a row and their 8th consecutive road win. Chris Kunitz and Taylor Pratt found the back of net for the Penguins with Jeff Zatkoff absorbing the defeat on 29 stops. Pitt remained just a single point away from securing a spot in the postseason.
Winnipeg is 5-2 in the last seven meetings with the Kings but 1-4 in their last five visits to Los Angeles while the home squad is 8-2 in the past ten match ups. Initial lean is the Kings at home pending verification of netminders but big juice is not for me...
