On tap for tonight in the NHL is a relatively quiet four-game set. That said, with all the playoff implications happening as we cruise toward the end of the season, nothing is uneventful anymore. Let’s take our daily look around the league and see which players everyone’s talking about this morning. Here’s the latest.

Milan Michalek, LW, Ottawa Senators: Michalek led the way for the Senators yesterday, helping his team to a big win over Calgary. He logged a pair of goals in the 6-3 victory, giving him five in his last seven games. Defensively, Robin Lehner snagged 37 saves on 40 shots for the Senators. Kyle Turris also had a nice outing, with two goals and an assist.
Ottawa plays five games this week, so it’s a busy stretch for them. They’ll host Carolina tonight, then the Islanders Wednesday and Montreal Friday. Saturday they’ll head to New York for the Rangers.

Gustav Nyquist, C, Detroit Red Wings: Nyquist just keeps pouring it on, and the Red Wings are reaping the benefits. He tallied yet another goal in Detroit’s 3-2 win over the Lightning, giving him 11 scores in his past nine games and 22 in the past 27. David Legwand also helped out with a goal and assist of his own.
Detroit gets a couple of days to rest up before picking it up again on Wednesday against Boston. They’ll host the Sabres on Friday, then finish off the week in Montreal on Saturday evening.

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: Crosby had an all-around solid outing against the Blackhawks yesterday, tallying two goals on eight shots and a plus-3 rating in the 4-1 win. On the other side, Chicago suffered a tough blow by losing Jonathan Toews to an upper-body injury (which appeared to be an arm/shoulder issue) in the second period. He’s day-to-day.
That’s two wins in a row for the Penguins, who play every other day this week. Tomorrow they’ll host Carolina, then head to Winnipeg Thursday and Minnesota on Saturday.

Rick Nash, LW, New York Rangers: The Rangers could seemingly do no wrong yesterday against the Oilers, and they came away with a big win. Nash posted two goals in the 5-0 victory, giving him 25 scores to go along with 12 assists in 59 games this season. Cam Talbot recorded the shutout on 25 saves, while Mats Zuccarello added three points for New York.
The Rangers also play every other day this week. They’re in Vancouver tomorrow, then will head to Colorado on Thursday. Their lone home game in this stretch is Saturday against Ottawa.

NHL Daily Schedule: Eight teams will be in action tonight, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find a couple of engaging matchups. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks carrying each game.
