The SAP Center at San Jose and the Sharks play host to the Edmonton Oilers in a Pacific Division tilt.
Edmonton struggled at both ends of the ice in a 5-0 defeat at the hands of the visiting Rangers on Sunday. The Oilers offense was held in check the entire 60 minutes and the defense and goaltending struggled which the final score says. The Oilers have now been shutout nine times and have lost at least 40 games fot the fourth straight time as Ben Scrivens gave up the five goals to saddle Edmonton with losses in four of five. New York had no problem finding the back of the net with Mats Zuccarello and Rick Nash supplying two goals each with Derrick Brassard also scoring to make a winner of Cam Talbot who posted his third shutout with 26 stops.

San Jose lost more then a game at Colorado Sunday with a drop in the standings being doubly painful. The Avalanche dealt the visiting Sharks a 3-2 defeat and secured a postseason berth with win number three in a row. SJ fell to second in the Pacific, one point behind Anaheim with goals from Dan Boyle and Joe Pavelski not enough to support the goaltending of Alex Stalock who posted 19 saves. John Mitchell, Cody McCleod and Paul Stastny did the damage forthe Colorado attack while the real hero was Semyon Varlamov who turned away a hefty 47 San Jose Shots who last were in the playoffs at the end of 2010.
Edmonton is 2-7 in their last nine trips to San Jose and are 5-17 in the past 22 meetings overall while the under is 9-4-1 in the last 14 in SJ. The trends say San Jose but the odds will be huge regardless of who is between the pipes and the Sharks as a big favorite stinks to high heaven so when everything is released I'll probably be on the sideline...
