The Philadelphia Flyers collide with Metropolitan leader the Boston Bruins at TD Banknorth Garden.
Philadelphia needs points and somebody to beat the Rangers if they expect to overtake New York for second in the Metropolitan Division. Neither happened Thursday with the Flyers dropping a 2-0 decision to visiting Columbus for the Blue Jackets first win in Philly. Ex Flyers netminder Sergei Bobrovsky picked up shutout number four on the year with a 37 save performance with James Wisniewski and Brandon Dubinsky scored for CBJ who hold on to the second Wild Card in the East. Philadelphia suffered their second straight shutout and lead Columbus by a mere two points as Steve Mason's 27 stops was not enough.

Toronto kept their playoff hopes alive with a 4-3 overtine victory over visiting Boston on Thursday. Nazem Kadri won it on the power play with just over two minutes left in the extra session with James van Riemsdyk, Paul Ranger and Tyler Bozak also lighting the lamp. Jonathan Bernier made 25 saves but left with a third period injury with James Riemer finishing up with a goal allowed on eleven shots to keep the Maple Leafs one point behind Columbus for the second Wild Card. Brad Marchand scored in the opening frame for Boston with Patrice Bergeron and Milan Lucic tallying in the third while Chad Johnson posted 27 stops.
