The Los Angeles Kings travel to Rogers Arena to battle Pacific Division foe the Vancouver Canucks.
Los Angeles had an opportunity to move up in the Pacific rankings when they traveled to San Jose but a 2-1 loss on Thursday guaranteed they would stay in third and be on the road in round one of the postseason. Jordan Nolan gave the LAK a 1-0 first period lead but it was all downhill from there with Logan Couture and Brent Burns each scoring in the second before Antti Niemi took over from there with 26 stops in the win. Martin Jones recorded 19 saves in the defeat which might have been more costly with defenseman Drew Doughty exiting in the first in what is believed to be a shoulder injury of unknown severity.

The surging Rangers keep plowing forward in their playoff drive after they knocked off Vancouver 3-1 on the road Tuesday. New York has won seven of eight and own a three point lead over Philadelphia for second in the Metropolitan. Benoit Pouliot, Martin St. Louis and Daniel Carcillo did the damage for the visitors with Henrik Lundqvist brushed aside 34 shots to get the win. Ryan Kessler made things interesting as he tallied in the second to make it a 2-1 game but the Canucks would not get closer. Eddie Lack was charged with all three goals on 31 shots as Vancouver saw their losing streak reach three games.
The Kings are 4-0 in their last four head to heads and 4-1 in the last five visits to Vancouver while the over is 3-1-1 in the last five at Rogers Arena. We'll see who the Kings have in goal with their spot in the playoffs set but resting players is a concern now...
