The New York Islanders look to slow the playoff drive of the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.
The New York Islanders have been an afterthought in the postseason for quite awhile but have been playing well as of late. Their three game winning streak came to an end as visiting Washington posted a 4-3 victory in a shootout on Saturday. In the process the Capitals kept their postseason hopes alive as they moved within two points of the Blue Jackets for the Wild Card in the Eastern Conference. Evgeny Kuznetsov tallied the winner in the SO and joined Nicklas Backstrom and Joel Ward with regulation tallies with Braden Holtby logging 35 saves. John Persson, Cal Clutterbuck and Frans Nielsen scored for New York while Evgeni Nabakov posted 26 saves.

Arten Anisimov, Ryan Johansen and Derek MacKenzie did the damage for the Blue Jackets as their lead for the last WC dropped to a single point over the Maple Leafs with Toronto playing Saturday. Sergei Bobrovsky absorbed the loss with 34 saves as the CBJ dropped their 13th to Chicago. The Blackhawks are chasing the Avalanche for 2nd in the Central and kept the pressure on thanks to Ben Smith's goal with four seconds left. Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa and Jeremy Morin scored the other Chicago goals with Antti Raanta posting 24 saves.
New York is 1-4 in the last five head to heads and 1-7 in the last eight visits to Columbus while the over is 4-1 in the past five at Columbus. The Blue Jackets have to have this and have had their way with the Islanders so lean to CBK while waiting for netminders...
