The Washington Capitals and the St. Louis Blues meet in NHL action from the Enterprise Center on Friday night.

The Washington Capitals will look to bounce back from a 4-3 OT loss to New Jersey last time out. Alex Ovechkin leads the Caps in scoring with 50 points including a team-high 24 goals and 26 assists while Evgeny Kuznetsov has 33 points with 22 assists. Tom Wilson has 24 points with 9 goals and 15 assists and John Carlson’s got 32 points with 8 goals and 24 apples. Ilya Samsonov has gone 13-2-3 with a 2.64 GAA and a .908 save percentage for the Caps while Vitek Vanecek is 6-4-5 with a 2.51 GAA and a .910 save percentage.

The St. Louis Blues will look to rebound from a 5-3 loss at the hands of Pittsburgh last time out. Vladimir Tarasenko leads the Blues in scoring with a team-high 14 goals along with 14 assists while Jordan Kyrou has 33 points with 13 goals and 20 assists. Pavel Buchnevich has 30 points with 11 goals and 19 assists and Ivan Barbashev has 27 points with Barbashev logging 11 goals. Robert Thomas leads the Blues with 22 assists as well this season. Jordan Binnington’s seen the bulk of St. Louis’ action in goal, going 10-7-3 with a 3.00 GAA and a .908 save percentage but Charlie Lindgren’s seen a lot of action lately as well, going 5-0 with a 1.22 GAA and a .958 save percentage this season.

Washington is 27-13 in their last 40 road games and 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the over is 11-4-1 in their last 16 games overall. St. Louis is 9-1 in their last 10 home games and 7-3 in their last 10 games overall while the over is 20-8 in their last 28 games against a team with a winning record.

I get the case to be made either way here as this is shaping up to be a fantastic game on Friday night. However, I think this is a game that is easier to focus on the total and I’m going to side with the over. Both teams have solid goaltending, but the offensive firepower on both sides is also powerful enough to give us at least 7 goals no problem here I think this is a 4-3 game at least whichever way you slice it, so give me the over here.
