The Scotiabank Saddledome and the Calgary Flames host the Los Angeles Kings in Tuesday action.
Vancouver gave their fading playoff hopes a boost with a 2-1 decision over the visiting Kings Saturday. The Canucks were eliminated from postseason contention following Monday's loss to Anaheim while Los Angeles has locked up third in the Pacific Division as the playoff picture begins to take shape. Alexander Edler and Brad Richardson lit the lamp for the Canucks with Eddie Lack getting the win with a 25 save effort. The LAK lone tally came off the stick Slava Voynov that gave his team a 1-0 advantage heading in to the third but a 38 stop performance from Jonathan Quick couldn't prevent the Kings from dropping their third in four outings.

I always say that teams eliminated from the postseason are extremely dangerous as they are playing loose looking to take as many playoff hopeful opponents with them in to the off season. Calgary might have done that at New Jersey on Monday with a 1-0 decision that dropped the Devils three points behind Columbus for the second Wild Card with three to play. The Flames have won three in a row thanks to Mark Giordano's third period tally to support the 31 save performance of Karri Ramo who recorded his second shutout of the year. The Devils had won three of four heading in to Monday with Corey Schneider taking the loss on 21 stops.
The Kings are 6-0 in the last six visits to Calgary with the road team going 4-0 in the last four while the under has gone 3-0-2 in the last five at the Saddledome. I don't know if the Kings are just playing out the string and getting ready for the postseason or not so they are dangerous to bet. I'll see who is in the nets and try to see the lineups when announced...
