The Line: Pittsburgh Penguins -165 / Ottawa Senators +150 --- Over/Under: 5.5 See the Latest Odds

The Senators wrap up their season in Pittsburgh on Sunday as they look to deal their rivals a loss before they embark on a playoff stretch.

The Senators have had a disappointing season but can vindicate a little part of it by upending the Penguins in their regular season finale on Sunday in what is quickly becoming one of the more exciting and nasty rivalries in the league. Ottawa was expected to make some noise in the Atlantic division this season but to be honest I don’t think they ever overcame the loss of Daniel Alfredsson and I think taking an extended offseason will be good for everyone involved with this franchise. Ottawa is coming off a shutout victory over the Maple Leafs last night at the Canadian Tire Centre so playing in a back to back isn’t appealing but with this being their last game of the year I can see them going all out and showing no mercy. Craig Anderson is likely to start in goal as he goes up against Pittsburgh backup Jeff Zatkoff.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators - 4/13/14

The Penguins locked up the Metro division weeks ago but it wasn’t until the Bruins claimed the President’s Trophy earlier this week that the top seed in the East was up for grabs and with this being the final day of the regular season the Pens will know their first round opponent by the end of the day. The Pens are slated into a first round matchup with the Blue Jackets at the moment but a Detroit victory on Sunday could propel them into the second seed setting up a very exciting first round but nonetheless the Pens would love to win today and gain some momentum heading into the playoffs. As mentioned, the Pens and Sens really don’t like each other and Ottawa was very good to us this season in their matchups with the Penguins and this looks like another spot we can bite. The Pens really have nothing to play for and won’t run the risk of getting one of their star players injured and while you hate to think it could happen these rivalry games are where it is most likely to occur and I don’t see the Pens taking that chance.
