The Dallas Stars look to avoid elimination when they host the Anaheim Ducks in game six Sunday.
Anaheim broke open a close game with a dominant effort over the final 20 minutes to rout Dallas 6-2 at the Honda Center on Friday to secure a 3-2 series lead. I though the Stars had a reasonable shot at pulling the upset until Ryan Getzlaf was given the go ahead to play and he proved why with a goal and a pair of helpers. However the scoreboard says there were plenty of reasons the Ducks won with an impressive four power play tallies being at the top of the list.

Nick Bonino, Corey Perry, Rickard Rakell, Mathieu Perreault and Jakub Silfverberg also joined the scoring column to make life between the pipes easy for Frederik Andersen. Andersen recorded 34 saves in a much needed rout after getting the hook in game three's 4-2 defeat. On the Stars end, they received goals from Jamie Benn (shorthanded) and Shawn Horcoff to close the gap to 3-2 after two periods but Kari Lehtonen was yanked in the third after a 5th goal got by him on just 21 shots.
Dallas is a solid home team but they completely outclassed in the special teams battle Friday and that can't happen any where or home ice won't mean a thing. Aside from the Ducks four goals with the man advantage the Stars were 0-7 on the power play themselves although they ironically scored shorthanded. I expect Dallas to be a slight favorite when the line is released and will look at them with a series dominated by the home team so please check back...
