The Minnesota Wild visit the Pepsi Center to take the ice with the Colorado Avalanche in game seven.
Minnesota rode a a third period scoring burst to to a 5-2 victory over Colorado to set up a decisive game seven on Wednesday. The Wild seemed to have this well in hand with a 2-0 lead before the Avalanche tied it 2-2 heading in to what looked like a nailbiter in the third. However Minnesota dominated play at both ends of the ice over the final 20 minutes to send this series back to the Pepsi Center where the Avs are 3-0.

Zach Parise led the Minnesota scoring spree with two goals and a pair of assists with his second tally in the third breaking a 2-2 deadlock with just 6 1/2 minutes left in regulation. Mikel Granlund also lit the lamp while Marco Scandella and Jason Pominville added empty netters as the Avalanche went with the extra attacker with 2:44 remaining. That tactic didn't work with Darcy Kuemper posting 21 stops including a mere three over the final 20 minutes. Nick Holden and Paul Stastny provided the Avs offense with Ryan O'Reilly adding a pair of helpers while Semyon Varlamov posted 18 saves in the defeat.
This has been a back and forth series with momentum swings and plenty of exciting end to end play. Some say Colorado is fortunate to be alive right now after their unexpected win in game five but the bottom line is the home team is 3-0 in this series. I think Minnesota has more experience and should be unphased by a game seven on the road but until a line and total is released I'll lean to the home team so please check back...
