The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers take the ice in game four at Madison Square Garden.
Pittsburgh turned to their defense once again in a 2-0 decision over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Monday to take a 2-1 series lead and steal back home ice. While New York has been saddled with a miserable schedule the Penguins defensive intensity has been the biggest factor against their tired legs as they struggled to get shots on Marc-Andre Fleury in game two with just 22 and none in the final 11 1/2 minutes. However the NYR put 35 shots on the Penguins netminder on Monday with the same result. The issue facing New York has been a punchless power play that was 0-5 in game three and has not scored in the last 34 tries with the man advantage.

Sidney Crosby broke a postseason streak of 13 games without a goal with a second period tally at the 2:34 mark when his wrist shot beat Lundqvist for the 1-0 lead. Jussi Jokinen was in the right place at the right time to give the visitors an insurance goal when he came out of the penalty box to pick off a Rangers pass and scored on the breakaway. Fleury made a few pectacular stops and was the recipient of some good luck with New York clanging several shots off the post while Lundqvist faced a mere 15 shots. The Rangers are struggling to score and generate quality chances and when they do Fleury or the post has gotten in the way. The Pens are not exactly lighting up the scoreboard but they are making the most of their opportunities. The keys for me revolve around New York getting a fruitless power play going and simply scoring...period. Leaning Pens while waiting for the line...
