The Bruins and Canadiens wrap up their hostile Eastern Conference semi-final series on Wednesday night in Boston.
The Montreal Canadiens staved off elimination for night on Monday as they handed the Bruins a 4-0 defeat in what was arguably Carey Price’s best effort of the season as he recorded the shutout and improved his record to 4-0 in “elimination” type games this season. The Habs take to the road to play in hostile conditions as the TD Garden is sure to be loud and proud on Wednesday night as they look to take one step further to reaching their Stanley Cup goals and advance to the East finals to play the Rangers. Montreal looked dominant in every facet of the game on Monday and even if Price wasn’t as sharp as he was I think the Canadiens still would have come away victorious but if the dpisuted beat goalie in the game can continue his strong play here tonight than it could be the Bruins who are going home early. Montreal comes in as heavy underdogs in this spot but I think we could see a much tigheter game than this line indicates.

The Bruins were unable to close out the series on the road on Monday and frankly they weren’t even close as the Habs extended the series with a special effort for the home fans. However, the scene shifts back to Boston where the Bruins have been scary good this season and they will be playing with vengeance on their minds after getting blown out in a possible series clinching game six. Boston is undoubtedly one of the deepest teams in the game but some of their top end guys have been very quiet in these playoffs specifically Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci who were instrumental in Boston’s Cup run last year. The Big Bad Bruins are big time favourites here which in an elimination game on home ice as the President’s Trophy winners makes sense but this series has been very close with a bounce one way going a long way in determining the victor in each contest. For a game seven between two bitter rivals I think we are destined to see this thing settled in overtime and as such I have Montreal keeping this thing close at worst with a possible shot on the money line.
