The Philadelphia Flyers visit the Windy City looking for back to back wins when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Philadelphia Flyers look to build on the momentum of their first victory of the season where they outscored Dallas 6-5 in overtime Saturday night. There wasn't much in the way of defense played by either team as the Flyers scored three times in the final 20 minutes to go to overtime with Michael Raffl netting the equalizer with just under four minutes left in regulation. From there captain Claude Giroux banged home the winner with 2:11 left in OT on the power play. Sean Courturier, Andrew McDonald and Jakub Voracek also found the back of the net as Philadelphia came back from a 4-2 deficit in the third. Steve Mason gave up four goals on just 22 shots before Ray Emery took over between the pipes in the third and gave up a goal on five shots. Kari Lehtonen absorbed the loss with all six goals allowed on 36 shots to remain winless versus the Flyers.

With the odds stacked against them the veteran Chicago Blackhawks stole a 2-1, overtime victory over the visiting Predators on Saturday. The winning goal came shorthanded with just 1:34 remaining in the extra session when Jonathan Toews shot from the left wing beat Nashville netminder Carter Hutton just under his pads. This game belonged to the respective defenses and goaltenders after a first period that ended 1-1. This had the makings of a scorefest when Johnny Oduya scored at 1:49 in to this on a left circle slapshot to give the Blackhawks the early lead. Shea Weber tied it for the Pedators with neither offense able to net another. Hutton was spectacular in defeat with 35 saves as Chicago didn't lack opportunities while Corey Crawford remained unbeaten with a 19 save performance to improve to 3-0-1 on the young season.
Philadelphia is 0-5 in the last five games following a victory and are 0-6 in their last six contests when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game while the over is 3-0-1 in their last four Tuesday games. The Blackhawks are 4-0 in their past four games after scoring two goals or less in their previous game while the over has gone 9-2 in Chicago's last eleven contests versus a team with a winning % below .400 with the over going 4-1 in the Blackhawks last five games following a win. Head to head the Flyers are 1-5 in the last six vists to Chicago with the home team going 16-5 in the past 21 meetings while the over is 6-2 in the last eight match ups. The home team and the over seems to be what the trends are saying but I have to see who is in the nets especially for Philadelphia so check back by Tuesday afternoon for an update...
