The Pittsburgh Penguins continue their road trip with a stop at the Bridgestone Arena to face the Nashville Predators.
The Pittsburgh Penguins looked like a sure thing until fading badly late and dropping a 4-3, overtime decision to Detroit at Joe Louis Arena on Thursday. The Penguins had built a 3-1 lead through two periods on goals from Olli Matta, Pascal Dupuis and Chris Kunitz and appeared to show no fatigue from playing on back to back nights with a physical battle with the Flyers on Wednesday. Niklas Kronwall scored in the first for the Red Wings and eventuallytallied the equalizer with around 40 seconds remaining in regulation with goalie Jimmy Howard pulled. Henrik Zetterberg had just brought Detroit to within 3-2 with 2:39 left with Howard pulled for the extra skater. Justin Abdelkader won it with 44 seconds left in OT with Howard making 23 stops for the win with Thomas Greiss allowing four goals on 31 shots in the loss.
