The Line: New York Rangers -118 / Minnesota Wild +107 --- Over/Under: 5 See the Latest Odds

The Minnesota Wild look for their third win in a row on Monday as they head into New York to take on the Rangers at MSG.

The Wild head into Monday's game with the Rangers sitting with a 4-2 record through their first six games including a 7-2 drubbing of the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night pushing their ridiculous plus-minus to +13 in their six games played. Minnesota was a team to me that had a chance to make some noise in last year's playoffs and now with another training camp and bringing in Thomas Vanek I think they are a legitimate threat to win the Cup especially if they can sort out their woes on the road. Minny has long been a strong team at home but often struggle on the road as has been the case so far this season as both of their losses were away from home and just one of their four wins have come outside of Minnesota and while it is still early in the season it could be the team's downfall come playoff time. Darcy Kuemper has been spectacular in the Minnesota net and he will get the call against Henrik Lundqvust for New York.

New York Rangers vs. Minnesota Wild - 10/27/14

The Rangers head into Monday's encounter sitting with a 4-4 mark through their first eight games including a 2-2 mark at MSG but after making the Stanley Cup finals a season ago we know this Rangers team can turn things around in a hurry. New York did lose some pieces from last year's team but one that has ramped up his game to start the season is Rick Nash who currently sits second in league scoring with 8 goals and if he can get some secondary options to step up than the Blue Shirts should be right back in the playoff mix this season. New York will go as far as Henrik Lundqvist will carry them but in a show down with Darcy Kuemper it is the Minnesota net minder that is atop the league in shutouts as three of his four wins have come without allowing a goal and he is playing with extreme confidence at the moment. However, this seems to be the type of game that New York shows up for and while the value is there with Minnesota I think the Rangers are getting a great price at home and that's where I'll lean.
