The Montreal Canadiens shoot for another road win when they take on the Vancouver Canucks Thursday. Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau was the only player too score in the shootout to send the visitors bench in to a wild celebration. Tom Gilbert netted the other Canadiens goal in the second period and Carey Price was at his very best between the pipes with a 37 save performance to pick up the victory. The Vancouver Canucks look for another win at Rogers Arena when the Montreal Canadiens take the ice Thursday night. The Canucks look to build on an easy 4-1 victory over visiting Carolina on Tuesday that gave the team wins in three of their last four contests. Vancouver saw Brad Richardson score twice with Jannik Hansen and Linden Vey also finding the back of the net while Ryan Miller picked up career win number 300 with a 29 stop performance. The Canucks led 3-0 before Jiri Tlusty broke up the shutout but the Canucks finished things off with an empty net tally. Cam Ward was saddled with the loss with three goals scored on 27 shots. The struggling Hurricanes never got going at either end of the ice and have yet to win in eight contests.
The under is 5-0 in Canadiens last 5 overall and is 4-0 in Canadiens last 4 vs. Western Conference while going 4-0 in Canadiens last 4 games following a win. For Vancouver the over is 5-0 in Canucks last 5 vs. Atlantic and is 4-0-1 in Canucks last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game while the Canucks are 0-5 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Head to head the Canadiens are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings with the road team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while the Canadiens are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings in Vancouver. The trends give Vancouver a slight nod but Montreal is no slouch especially when Price is in the nets. Still waiting for goalies so please check back Thursday afternoon...
