The Florida Panthers take the ice at the Wells Fargo Center to face the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday.
The Florida Panthers hope to regain the winning touch when they visit the City of Brotherly Love to take on Philadelphia. The Panthers are looking to rebound from a 2-1 overtime defeat at the Bruins on Tuesday. In the process Boston has won three in a row while Florida saw a shot at winning three straight fall by the wayside. This was a defensive strugg;e from the drop of the puck with both teams s scoring in the second period with Brad Marchand giving the Bruins the win with around 1 1/2 left in the extra session. Patrice Bergeron scored in regulation with with Tuukka Rask getting the victory with an 18 save performance. The Panthers received a second period tally from Jussi Jokinen with Roberto Luongo's 23 stop effort not enough.

The Philadelphia Flyers opened their homestand with a 4-1 victory over visiting Edmonton on Tuesday night and look to keep the momentum going with Florida coming to the Wells Fargo Center. The Flyers opened up a 4-1 lead after two periods and and then turned things over to Steve Mason and the defense who stood tall the rest of the way. Jacub Voracek paced the Philadelphia offense with a pair of tallies while Luke Schenn and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare joined the scoring column with Steve Mason coming through with a hefty 35 steps to pick up the win to improve to 1-4-1 on the season. The Oilers got their lone goal off the stick of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins while Viktor Fash absorbed the loss with 21 saves with Edmonton falling to 0-1 on their five game road swing.
The under is 4-0 in Panthers last 4 overall and is 5-0 in Panthers last 5 vs. Eastern Conference while going 5-0 in Panthers last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game. For Philadelphia the over is 3-0-1 in Flyers last 4 Thursday games while the Flyers are 4-0 in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 0-5 in their last 5 Thursday games. Head to head the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Philadelphia and is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings while the road team is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings. The trends lean to Philadelphia and the under but I haven't seen goaltender confirmation so please check back Thursday afternoon...
