The Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings play Saturday night at the STAPLES Center.

The Vancouver Canucks have won six of their last seven games and are making a strong run in the Pacific Division. While the Canucks have been an offensive team all year, it’s their defense that has allowed two or less goals in seven of their last nine games. The Vancouver Canucks have also gone five of their last seven games without allowing a power play goal. Ryan Miller has allowed 23 goals on 289 shots and Eddie Lack has allowed 15 goals on 120 shots faced. The Canucks have won 16 straight when allowing two or less goals. Offensively, Nick Bonino has seven goals, Daniel Sedin has 11 assists and Radim Vrbata has 49 shots on goal. The Canucks have scored at least one power play goal in five of their last seven games.

Kings vs. Canucks - 11/8/14 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Kings have lost five of their last six games and are losing a little bit of ground in a tough division. The issue for the Kings continues to be a lack of offense, as they’re averaging 2.2 goals per game on the season and have scored eight goals in their last five games. The Los Angeles Kings are scoring on just 12.8 percent of their power play attempts and have lost 10 of their last 13 games when scoring two or less goals. Tanner Pearson leads the Kings with seven goals, Tyler Toffoli has eight assists and Alec Martinez has 34 shots on goal. Defensively, Martin Jones has allowed four goals on 56 shots and Jonathan Quick has allowed 23 goals on 405 shots faced. The Kings have allowed at least one power play goal in five of their last seven games.

The Canucks are 7-0 in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and 8-3 in their last 11 vs. Western Conference. The Kings are 1-4 in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and 5-0 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. The Canucks are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles and 1-4 in the last 5 meetings overall.

I know it's only a matter of time before the Kings break out of their funk, but can we really turn down the Vancouver Canucks and the plus money? I say no. The Kings may very well win this match, but the value is all on the Canucks here, at least until Los Angeles starts to show signs of life.
