Boston Bruins vs. New Jersey Devils - 11/10/14 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The New Jersey Devils were one of the hottest teams to start the season out of the gate but they have since fallen back to reality after the first month and their three game slide has them at the .500 mark and in fifth place in the Metro. New Jersey does have some talented youngsters but they are flooded with a lot of older players and while that can help your team at times it has looked like a detriment for the most part this season and it could be the last for a few future hall of famers if they can't get into the postseason. Corey Schneider is in his first full season as the team's starter as they moved on from Martin Brodeur but he has been average thus far and hasn't really stolen any games for the Devils like he did quite a few times in Vancouver. The Devils need a victory here to not only end their three games skid but to boost their spirits and confidence moving forward and a road win against one of the game's best would surely help out in doing so.

The Bruins were expected to take a bit of a hit this season and even more so when Zdeno Chara went down but they have been flying since losing their captain and don't look as though they're going to slow down any time soon. Boston did lose some pieces from last year's team including Jarome Iginla and Johnny Boychuk but they seem to have the same swagger about them as we have grown accustomed to seeing and through their first 15 games they are 9-6 and very much in the thick of things in the Eastern Conference. While I would normally lean towards the Devils in this spot as the law of averages would dictate both streaks ending soon I just don't see this as being the best place for them to do it so I will side with the Bruins at home and I think they get it done in regulation.
