TV:

There were just a couple of games in the NHL last night, but the league will be turning it up full blast in the coming hours. We’ve got 11 matchups to look forward to this evening, so with that in mind let’s check out some of the notable players out there making headlines.

Cam Talbot, G, New York Rangers: Henrik Ludqvist backup Cam Talbot stepped into the net last night and delivered a solid and much-needed performance. He made saves on all 31 shots that came his way, recording the fourth shutout of his career in a 2-0 final. It was the first win of the year for Talbot. He was 0-2-1 coming in.
Rick Nash logged his 13th goal of the year here, and Kevin Klein his fourth. Martin St. Louis also logged an assist on the Nash goal for his eighth helper of the season so far.

Daniel Sedin, LW, Vancouver Canucks: Last night’s only other game went to the Canucks, as they emerged victorious from a very back-and-forth matchup over the Oilers 5-4. Sedin recorded three assists, and Radim Vrbata gave a solid offensive showing with two goals on four shots.
On the other side, Steven Pinizzotto managed a goal and an assist, but it wasn’t enough as Vancouver recorded their fourth win over the Oilers this year.

The Flames’ Kris Russell is dealing with a lower-body injury and is questionable for tonight’s game against the Blackhawks, according to sources close to the team. If he does indeed miss--and that seems to be the way things are going--it’ll be his second straight missed opportunity to hit the ice.

The Coyotes’ David Moss, who is dealing with an upper-body injury, is holding out hope that he’ll be able to get back to practice at some point next week.
Moss’ issue is reportedly his hand, and though he’s not wearing any protective covering on it anymore, he’s still got a few final touches to put on his recovery process.

The Bruins' Adam McQuaid will miss 6-8 weeks due to a broken thumb. It’s a depth blow to Boston, who will struggle to fill his role while he’s gone.
