We’ve got another four-game set on tap for tonight in the NHL, so things look pretty good moving forward. While we’re waiting on game time, let’s take our daily look around the league and check out some of the notable players out there who are making headlines.

Alexander Steen, LW, St. Louis Blues: The Blues got a nice all-around effort yesterday against the Jets, and thanks to a solid power play they were able to pull off a 4-2 victory. Steen bagged a pair of assists in the win, with Jaden Schwartz and David Backes each logging an important power play goal.
St. Louis now stands at 14-6-1, but will have to monitor the status of defenseman Jay Bouwmeester. He left late in a victory over the Senators on Saturday due to a lower-body injury.

Henrik Lundqvist, G, New York Rangers: Thanks to a cancellation of their game against Buffalo on Friday, the Rangers had been waiting on the Canadiens since Wednesday. All that preparation and rest came in handy, as New York logged a dominant 5-0 shutout at the Garden.
Lundqvist posted a shutout on 21 saves, while Martin St. Louis managed a goal and an assist in the win. Lundqvist now has four shutouts on the year, which is tied with Marc-Andre Fleury (Penguins) for the league lead right now.

Patrick Maroon, LW, Anaheim Ducks: Maroon managed his first goal of the year in last night’s win over the Coyotes at Honda Center yesterday, also bagging an assist in the 2-1 final. That’s good news for the Ducks, considering he missed time this year due to a sprained knee.
Helping out along the way were Ryan Kesler (two assists) and Kyle Palmieri (goal), who have guided Anaheim to a 5-1-5 record in their last 11 outings.

Jannik Hansen, RW, Vancouver Canucks: Yesterday was a red-letter day for Hansen. He posted his first career hat trick against the Blackhawks, bagging three scores in a 4-1 win. Derek Dorsett had two assists and Bo Horvat managed three helpers of his own in the victory.
Canucks goalie Ryan Miller managed 24 saves and moves to 13-3-0 on the year so far.
