Montreal Canadiens vs. Buffalo Sabres - 11/29/14 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Buffalo Sabres earned their biggest win of the season on home ice on Friday night when they took down the Eastern Conference leading Montreal Canadiens as they held on for a 2-1 victory and now they can complete the sweep as the teams shifts locations to Montreal. With the win, the Sabres have moved out of the Eastern Conference basement leaving behind the Columbus Blue jackets and while they are still light years away from a playoff spot they have been playing much better hockey of late and should be filled with confidence in this one. Last night marked the first time Josh Gorges and Brian Gionta faced off against their former team and now they will be coming back to the Bell Centre for what should be a nice ovation but they would love to head back to Biffalo with four points in two nights though they know it'll be a tall order to pull off. Jhonas Enroth will likely get the call in goal while Carey Price is expected to counter for the Habs though both did play in Buffalo last night so I wouldn't be surprised if either is pushed to the bench for this one.

The Canadiens couldn't get anything going offensively last night but return home where they have been brilliant all season long and get a shot at redemption on the Sabres, something not too many teams have had to say so far this season. Carey Price played a pretty solid game giving Montreal a chance to win but Jhonas Enroth was equal to the task and had an even better game for just his third victory of the season and the team's seventh. Montreal are Eastern Conference contenders once again this season and have been one of the most consistent teams in the league this season and it would come as no surprise to anyone if the Habs came out and destroyed the Sabres in convincing fashion on Saturday. While that is likely to happen I do think we see another low scoring affair here as Montreal won't want to take any chances early while the Sabres will be holding on for dear life and that combination should lead us to a final tally under six goals.
