NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
November 30, 2014
There’s just one game on the NHL schedule today, but after all the intense hockey activity over the past couple of days, we could use a bit of a breather. In the meantime, let’s check out some of the notable players out there and see who’s making headlines across the league. Here’s the latest.
Derick Brassard, C, New York Rangers: The Rangers continued their dominance against the Flyers yesterday in the early game, posting a 5-2 win over Philly at the Garden.
Brassard pumped in two goals, while Jesper Fast and J.T. Miller each had a goal and an assist to round out the game’s trio of stars.
New York has won all three games against Philadelphia this year by a combined score of 10-2, and out-shot them in this one 35-23.

Ben Bishop, G, Tampa Bay Lightning: The three-game home-stand for the Lightning turned out to be pretty good, as they recorded victories in each one. Bishop was on his game for this one, logging a 26-save effort in the 4-1 victory yesterday over the Senators.
Ryan Callahan and Alex Killorn each had a goal and an assist, with Killorn logging the go-ahead score early in the third. The team never looked back after that.
Tampa Bay moves to 16-6-2 with that win, while the Sens fall to 10-9-4 and have lost five of their last seven.
Thomas Greiss, G, Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins took care of business against the Hurricanes last night at PNC Arena, and the result was a 3-2 win for Pittsburgh. Greiss stopped 32 of 34 shots in the game, while defensemen Christian Ehrhoff and Robert Bortuzzo each posted a goal in the victory. It was a nice lift for the Penguins, who were without Kris Letang for this one. He was a scratch due to a lower-body injury.
Tommy Wingels, C, San Jose Sharks: In last night’s most high-scoring game, the Sharks poured in six goals against their in-state rival Ducks, coming away with a 6-4 victory in San Jose. Wingels registered four points in the win (goal; three assists), while Logan Couture scored twice. On the other side, Corey Perry had two goals and an assist of his own.
The win brings the Sharks to 11-10-4 on the year; they’ve won both games against the Ducks so far this year. Meanwhile, the Ducks fall to 14-6-5.
