TV:

We’re coming off a 10-game Tuesday in the NHL, and after all that action the league needs a bit of a breather. We’ve got just two games on tap for this evening, but not to worry; the NHL will be back in full force tomorrow. In the meantime, let’s check out a few of the key players out there making headlines.

Jhonas Enroth, G, Buffalo Sabres: We’d imagine a lot of people lost money on this game. The Sabres took a 1-0 victory over the defending champion Kings last night, with Tyler Ennis bagging the game-winner in the third period.
The hero of the game, however, was Enroth, who logged his first shutout of the season on 34 saves. It was also the first shutout for the Sabres team since all the way back on April 13, 2013.
Buffalo got this win despite posting just 16 shots on goal. That’s almost as many (14) as the Kings had in the third period alone.

Jonathan Bernier, G, Toronto Maple Leafs: Not to be outdone, Bernier had a pretty good game last night himself. He managed 32 saves on 33 shots against the Flames at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, leading the team to a 4-1 win.
James Van Riemsdyk put up a goal and an assist, helping the Leafs to a 15-9-3 record. This game ends a five-game home-stand for Toronto; they’ll head to Detroit tonight then come back for three more.

Alex Ovechkin, RW, Washington Capitals: Ovechkin got himself going quickly against the Lightning, and book-ended his performance at the conclusion. He scored 40 seconds into the game, then bagged an empty-netter with just one second left in the third to help his team to a 5-3 road victory.
Caps net-minder Braden Holtby logged 33 saves on 36 shots for Washingotn. On the other side, Victor Hedman managed a trio of assists for Tampa Bay.

Mikko Koivu, C, Minnesota Wild: This morning, there are plenty of Islanders fans hanging their heads in their hands and wondering what happened. New York entered their game last night on the road against the Minnesota Wild. After two periods, the Isles led 4-1 and the contest appeared to be over. Then Minnesota’s offense woke up.
The Wild scored four goals in the third to compete an improbable comeback and take a 5-4 victory. It was the second game in a row that the Islanders have led 3-0 and lost.
Koivu had a goal and an assist, as did Thomas Vanek. The team is now 15-10-1.
