The Nashville Predators clash with the Boston Bruins at Bridgestone Arena in Tuesday night action.

The Boston Bruins begin a road trip with the first stop to face the Nashville Predators on Wednesday. The Bruins are looking to bounce back from a 3-2, shootout loss at the hands of visiting Ottawa on Saturday. The Bruins were one of the more dominant tams a season ago but have yet to hit their stride with defeats in five of six. Bobby Ryan beat Tuuka Rask in the SO to win it for the Senators with David Legwand and Mika Zibanejad also lighting the lamp to make a winner of Robin Lehner and his 29 stops. In the process new head coach Dave Cameron celebrated his first victory. Loui Eriksson and Craig Cunningham scored for the Bruins with Rask recording 29 saves in the loss. It was Cunningham's first career goal that gave Boston a 1-0 lead.

USA TODAY Sports

The Nashville Predators play a single game at home when the Bruins come to town on Tuesday before going back out on the road. The Predators ended a three game road trip with a 2-0 defeat at surging San Jose where their offense never got untracked even though they peppered Sharks netminder Antti Niemi with 18 shots in the final frame. The loss gave Nashville a 2-1 record on the trip with Pekka Rinne playing very well in defeat with a lone goal allowed on 33 shots. Tomas Hertl tallied early in the first period and Joe Thornton removed any doubt with an empty net goal late in the third. Niemi had gone 0-3 versus the Preds a season ago but Nashville couldn't solve him this time around with a 29 save performance earning him his second shutout of the year as San Jose won for the 7th time in eight contests.

The over is 2-0-2 in Bruins last 4 overall while the Bruins are 0-4 in their last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game with the under going 4-0-2 in Bruins last 6 vs. a team with a winning record. For Nashville the under is 3-0-1 in Predators last 4 vs. Eastern Conference while the Predators are 7-1 in their last 8 vs. Atlantic and 6-1 in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest. Head to head the over is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings and the home team is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings with the Bruins going 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. These teams don't face one anoth enough for the trends to matter in my view. I don't see a goalie confirmed or line but I lean Nashville right now so please check back no later then Tuesday afternoon...
