The Red Wings look to stay red hot at the Joe when they host the lowly Buffalo Sabres on Sunday evening.

The Sabres head into Detroit on Sunday night looking to stop the bleeding and wipe away some of the speculation that they are tanking for the top draft pick as they have dropped 10 games in a row and are dead last in the Eastern Conference. Surprisingly, the Sabres have company in the league basement as the Edmonton Oilers also have 31 points and the two teams are in a dead heat for the league's worst mark which usually but not always indicates who will select first overall in the entry draft and with the talent level at the top being very strong it could be a franchise altering season for these two teams. The Sabres have been dreadful of late and are 4-16-1 on the road this season which is second worst only to you guessed it, the Edmonton Oilers. Buffalo will look to spoil the party in Detroit who is coming off a great win last night against the Nashville Predators and currently sit in a tie for second place in the Atlantic division.
The Red Wings are coming off perhaps their most impressive win of the season as they knocked off the NHL's best in resounding fashion last night and even though the Predators are without Pekka Rinne they are still a very good team that many others have struggled to play against. The Wings came out swinging and never looked back en route to a 5-2 victory and it looks like their untouchable playoff streak will continue this season as they have looked like one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference all season long and they have done it with a variety of goal scorers helping out. Tomas Tatar has taken the league by storm and sits 10th in goals in the entire NHL and for a spot that is usually reserved for the likes of Pavel Dastyuk and Henrik Zetterberg it is great to see others chipping in for the Wings who could do some serious damage in the playoffs. This game is ludicrous on paper as the Wings are big time favourites but both teams did play yesterday and this is a prime let down spot for the Wings. As such I am staying away from the side and the crazy line and will lean on the total and I think we continue to see Detroit light it up and the Sabres should be good for one or two to help the cause.
