TV:

We’ve got a pretty steady evening of NHL hockey coming up tonight, with eight games on the schedule. While we’re waiting on those pucks to hit the ice, let’s check out some of the headlines out there right now in our daily wrap-up. Here’s the latest.

Nikolay Kulemin, LW, NY Islanders: The first-place Islanders got a big win over the Flyers yesterday, guaranteeing they’ll be in the top spot through the All-Star Weekend. The 7-4 victory in Uniondale came with lots of help from key players, including Kulemin, who had two goals and an assist.
Nick Leddy and Michael Grabner each added a score and a helper.
The team doesn’t play again until the 27th, so they’ll get plenty of rest in the meantime.

Anton Khudobin, G, Carolina Hurricanes: 2015 is going pretty well for the Hurricanes so far. They’re 6-2-1 this year after a 4-1 win against the Leafs in Toronto yesterday. Khudobin posted 34 saves on 35 shots, while Eric Staal managed two goals for his part.
On the other side, the Leafs are now 22-22-3 and have lost five in a row. They’re just 3-13-0 in their last 16.

Jaden Schwartz, LW, St. Louis Blues: The Blues will be getting a long layoff over the All-Star break, as they don’t play again until the 29th. They’re coming off a nice 3-1 win over the Avalanche at Scottrade Center yesterday, during which Schwartz posted a goal and an assist. Alexander Steen put up a pair of helpers himself.
The Blues are now 29-13-4 and 5-0-1 in their current seven-game home-stand. The Avs, meanwhile, are 19-18-10 and finish their road trip at 1-2-2.

Cory Schneider, G, New Jersey Devils: Schneider was a pretty busy guy against the Sharks yesterday. He put up 34 saves on 36 shots, helping the Devils to a 5-2 victory at SAP Center.
Five different Devils scored goals here, and Adam Henrique added a pair of assists.
On the other side, Joe Pavelski and Matt Nieto had goals for the Sharks, who are 24-17-6 after the loss.
