The Devils have had a tough year and for a team that had become a staple of playoff hockey in the late 90's and early 2000's it is a bit of a weird feeling seeing this team towards the bottom of the standings but with Corey Schneider between the pipes the team is in good hands moving forward. New Jersey has turned it up a bit of late as they have won three games in a row including last night on home ice against the struggling Maple Leafs but they face a different monster here as they travel to Montreal to take on a Canadiens team at the Bell Centre after coming off a loss against the lowly Sabres. New Jersey is also starting back up goaltender Keith Kinkaid who much like Schneider hasn't had the victories to his name but has had decent stats and he will have to be on point here as he will go up against Carey Price and a Canadiens team looking to reclaim top spot in the Atlantic division.
Montreal has to be a little disappointed with the way things went for them at home on Tuesday night in what was a clear let down spot and now the one time Atlantic division leaders are four back of the Lightning despite having three games in hand. Montreal has played very well this season and they could be a contender to land some serious upgrades at the trade deadline and if they can add one or two top end players to put them over the edge they could very well ride Price once again into the Eastern Conference finals and perhaps even make one step further and get to the Cup finals. This is a glorious match up for Montreal as they get a team playing in a backl to back, starting their back up goalie, on home ice, and coming off two games where they simply didn't play very well. However, the Devils are starting to improve and could pose another threat to Montreal's winning aspirations. I think this one goes over the total as I think Montreal can get to Kinkaid and if New Jersey is going to win they need to find a way to solve Price.
