The Tampa Bay Lightning were business as usual on Sunday as they went into San Jose and put up five on the Sharks and they'll look to repeat that effort in LA on Monday at the Staples Center. The Bolts have been the league's best offensive team this season and that has driven them to the Atlantic division lead and if they can escape California with another victory it would go a long way in building their resume even more so than it already has this season. The Bolts haven't been nearly as good on the road as they have been at home this season and that is something they'll need to rectify if they're going to have success in the playoffs but if they can earn home ice advantage it would be much less of a concern and they could be smooth sailing all the way through to the Cup finals. Ben Bishop has been great but he will likely give way to Andrei Vasilevsky in this one and while the Russian net minder is still raw he is very talented and gives Tampa a great chance to win every time he steps in the crease.
The Kings have really turned things up of late and it is about time they did as questions about their ability to get into the playoffs were starting to arise and frankly they still linger a little bit despite their four game winning streak. LA is likely to be very active at the trade deadline but whether they are buyers or sellers remains to be seen but knowing this group and that they may only have a couple more chances to add to their dynastic resume they are likely going to go all in on repeating this season and moving some prospects to do so. The Kings have been linked to moving some blue line prospects in an attempt to fill the void left by Slava Voynov and the name of Andrej Sekera from Carolina seems to come up an awful lot but whether or not the Canes or the Kings make that deal remains to be seen and for now it is just hearsay. This should be a very exciting game and I think the line will move depending on who starts for the Lightning and it'll account for Tampa's win last night but either way the Lightning have been ridiculous this season and we won't get this price on them much longer, perhaps the rest of the season.
