The Sharks and Kings renew hostilities at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Saturday night as they take to the outdoors for the NHL Stadium Series spectacle.

The Kings look to win their seventh game in a row on Saturday night as they take to the “road” to face off against the Sharks at Levi's Stadium and for what is meant to be a showcase for hockey in California it certainly means so much more on the ice between these two bitter rivals. Los Angeles has bragging rights for years on the Sharks after last year's epic come back that saw the Kings win four straight games after being down 3-0 in the series which was ultimately a catalyst in their magical run to yet another Stanley Cup title. However, if the Sharks can redeem themselves this season come playoff time then some of those wounds will be healed and San Jose can focus on finally competing for the elusive Stanley Cup that has been out of the franchises reach for years. Jonathan Quick will get the start for the Kings as he will go up against Antii Niemi.
The Sharks meanwhile look to build off of a victory in their last outing and improve on their 3-5-2 stretch through their last 10 contests as they are the declared hosts of tonight's Stadium Series matchup. San Jose alongside the Kings and a handful of other teams are log jammed in the Pacific division as well as the wild card race in what is shaping up to be a very exciting finish to the season as just three points separate second place from fifth. San Jose is the streakiest team in hockey as they'll go on two week stretches where they look like the 1980's Edmonton Oilers and other times where they look like a beer league team and as a fan of the team and as handicappers they are very frustrating to watch as predicting which version will show up is always a tough out. These two teams do not get along and while the Sharks spoiled LA's banner raising ceremony on opening night I think the Kings return the favour here and get the win at Levi's.
