Brock Nelson, C, New York Islanders: The Isles were able to handle the Caps last night in their opening matchup, as Nelson came through for a pair of goals in the 4-1 win. Josh Bailey put up a goal and an assist of his own, while Jaroslav Halak made 24 saves.
Game 2 in this series will come tomorrow night at 7 PM ET.

Duncan Keith, D, Chicago Blackhawks: Talk about a nail-biter. This one took double-overtime to decide, as Keith played the hero on a decisive goal at the 7:49 mark, giving the Blackhawks a 4-3 win in Game 1 over Nashville. He also had an assist.
Teammate Jonathan Toews would put up a score and two helpers of his own in the victory, while Colin Wilson scored twice on the other side.
Chicago had fallen behind 3-0 in this one and pulled goalie Corey Crawford at the start of the second period.

Jonas Hiller, G, Calgary Flames: It looked like we were going to have an overtime affair here, but Kris Russell bagged a late goal at 19:30 to give the Flames a 2-1 win over the Canucks last night. Hiller made 29 saves in the victory.
The Flames were down 1-0 heading into the third period.
This was Calgary’s first playoff game since 2009. Game 2 is tomorrow night at 10 PM ET.
