The Chicago Blackhawks proved once again why they are one of the best teams in hockey as they stormed back from a 3-0 deficit to force overtime and a double-OT clapper from Duncan Keith ultimately was the difference as the Hawks stole a pivotal game one. Now, Chicago has a great chance at putting Nashville on their heels and going back home with a 2-0 series lead and with all of the momentum in their favour and a goaltender looking to rebound after getting pulled in game one the Hawks could be in business. Patrick Kane made his return after a seven week absence and he made his presence felt right away and with the supporting cast being what it is this team will be tough to stop if they get rolling and Nashville needs to do everything in their power to make sure they win this game.
The Preds looked like world beaters through the first 30 minutes of Wednesday's series opener but they let the worst lead in hockey slip away and ultimately the Hawks were too much in the end. Nashville has been solid on home ice all year long but now they must have their best game of the season if they want to avoid a serious hole and I'm not convinced that after the collapse on Wednesday they'll be able to respond. Pekka Rinne hasn't been the same since returning from injury and after a loss like that I think the Preds are dead in the water. Take Chicago here.
