The Nashville Predators battle the Chicago Blackhawks in the Windy City in game three Sunday.
The Nashville Predators did not look good to end the regular season and were both up and down in dropping their playoff opener to Chicago. However a dominating third period lifted the Predators to a 6-2 victory over the Blackhawks to knot the series 1-1. The Preds played a full 60 minutes at both ends of the ice Craig Smith paced the offense with a pair of tallies while Filip Forsberg, Mike Santorelli, Roman Josi and Colin Wilson also found the back of the net. The Predators scored three times in a 2:19 stretch of the final period to put a close one away and make a winner of Pekka Rinne and his 24 stops.

The Chicago Blackhawks were probably sky high after rallying from a 3-0 hole in the opener against Nashville to win 4-3. However there was no big comeback in game number two as the Predators took a 2-0 lead and pulled away in the third to knot the series at a game apiece. The Blackhawks appeared poised to break the backs of the Preds as they entered the third trailing 3-2 but the visitors had no answer at either end of the ice for Nashville’s rapid scoring burst. The Blackhawks received goals from Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp in a rather quiet night while the defense was on their heels with numerous odd man rushes . Corey Crawford saw plenty of rubber with all six goals given up on 35 shots.
