The Nashville Predators responded in a very big way in game two of their series with the Chicago Blackhawks as they pasted the visitors by a 6-2 final after blowing a three goal lead and ultimately losing the series opener. The win was absolutely enormous for the Preds as they would have been dead in the water heading back to Chicago down 2-0 but the win came at a huge cost as their best player in Shea Weber went out with a leg injury and will not be traveling to Chicago for games three and four and while Nashville was able to get the win after Weber was out in game two this is a completely different context. The Preds were awful on the road during the regular season and heading into the United Center in playoff time is never an easy task as the Mad House will be rocking from puck drop until the final horn.
The Blackhawks head home salvaging a series split and are in a great position to book their ticket to the next round as they are lights out on home ice especially during the playoffs. Chicago had the luxury of seeing Patrick Kane return to the lineup to start the series and he and the rest of the Hawks will be fired up to play in front of their home fans and now with Nashville's top blue liner out of the picture for at least the next two games they know it is a perfect chance for them to go for the jugular. I am not sold on Nashville offensively and while it is a huge concern moving forward with Scott Darling as their number one (until Crawford wakes up) this one shouldn't be close as Chicago rolls.
