The St. Louis Blues shook off their series opening loss and responded in dominating fashion in game two to even the score and now they must find a way to salvage at least one victory on the road against Minnesota who can take a series stranglehold if they sweep the next two. The Blues were the odds on favourites by most to come out of the Western Conference and while that number may have taken a hit after their game one loss they got a ton of support after game two's win but now enter hostile territory against a Wild team who has spectacular on home ice this season. Jake Allen has been solid in goal through two games and will be leaned on moving forward and he will go up against Devan Dubnyk who continues to be a godsend for the Wild this season.
Minnesota pulled off a modest first round upset over the Colorado Avalanche in last year's playoffs and they'll look to do the same once again this season and set up a second round series with the winner of the Predators-Blackhawks series that is starting to take shape. The Wild are a tough team to sort out as they had to play their way into the postseason but had a ton of expectations coming into the year and were thought of as a league power back in September so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to see them staying competitive in this series and if they can with they have a great chance at going very deep. The Wild return home here as favourites in this spot and while the Blues are the team I see emerging from this series I do think it goes to seven and as such I like Minny to get the win in this spot.
