The Winnipeg Jets will be looking for their first win when they face the Anaheim Ducks at home Monday.
The Winnipeg Jets probably were counting down the minutes in game two at the Honda Center hoping their second period goal would hold up and the series would be tied a game apiece heading back home for game three Monday. It was not to be as Anaheim scored late to tie and tallied the winner with a mere 21 seconds remaining. Adam Purdy gave the Jets a 1-0 lead in the second at the 15:43 mark of the period and that seemed as it might be enough with Ondrej Pavelec making save after save. Pavelec finished with 37 saves and survived 17 Anaheim shots in the opening frame including a five on three power play.

The Anaheim Ducks don’t seem to be getting the respect they deserve as the best team in the Western Conference so their home sweep of Winnipeg might serve notice to the doubters. A pair of late tallies did secured the two game sweep although the Ducks put plenty of rubber on Ondrej Pavelec with 39 shots so a favorable bounce or two and the Ducks could have easily had a few more goals. Patrick Maroon finally got the Ducks on the board at 10:43 of the third when he tipped in a Cam Fowler slapper while on the man advantage. Jakob Silfverberg spared his team overtime when he lit the lamp with just 21 ticks remaining while Frederik Andersen won it with 28 saves.
The Ducks are 4-0 in their last 4 road games and are 4-0 in their last 4 Conference Quarterfinals games while the under is 3-0-1 in Ducks last 4 road games. The Jets are 0-6 in their last 6 Conference Quarterfinals games and are 0-5 in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 while the over is 11-2-1 in Jets last 14 vs. Pacific. Head to head the Ducks are 6-0 in the last 6 meetings and are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Winnipeg. The trends favor Anaheim but I want to see who is in goal before I decide…
