The Chicago Blackhawks head to the Bridgestone Arena looking to close out their series with the Nashville Predators.

The Chicago Blackhawks can eliminate the Nashville Predators with a win at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night. The Blackhawks put themselves in the driver’s seat after Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over the Predators in triple overtime at home. This looked like it might be a scorefest with each team lighting the lamp in the first. Brent Seabrook ended the longest game in the postseason with his slap shot inside the blue line just a minute in to the third OT. Brandon Saad erased a 2-1 deficit with under nine minutes left in regulation with Antoine Vermette scoring in the first while Scott Darling posted 50 saves to record the victory.

Nashville Predators vs. Chicago Blackhawks - 4/23/15 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Nashville Predators have their backs against the wall after Tuesday’s marathon triple overtime defeat at the United  Center. It’s do or die time now with another loss sending the Predators home for the remainder of the postseason. This was still an extra tough defeat with Nashville twice having the lead at 1-0 and 2-1. The Preds drew first blood on Colin Wilson’s tally at the 11:38 mark of the opening period which was his 4th of the series. With just under three minutes left in the second James Neal once again gave Nashville the lead when he scored off a Chicago turnover. Pekka Rinne was saddled with the loss despite a 45 save effort.

The under is  is 4-0 in Blackhawks last 4 Thursday games while the Blackhawks are 7-1 in their last 8 Conference Quarterfinals games and the over is 5-1-1 in Blackhawks last 7 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Predators are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and  are 0-5 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game while Nashville  are 1-10 in their last 11 vs. Central. The Blackhawks are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and the over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings with the home team going  4-1 in the last 5 meetings. I’m waiting for goalie confirmation but  the trends favor Chicago…
