NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
April 27, 2015
We’ve got two very important games coming up tonight in the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. While we’re getting set for those first-round matchups, let’s check out some of the key players who made news over the weekend.
Zach Parise, LW, Minnesota Wild: We had two series wins yesterday, so let’s start with the early game in St. Paul. Parise scored twice in the Wild’s 4-1 win over the Blues , with goaltender Devan Dubnyk putting up 30 saves on 31 shots. Minnesota wins the first round series in six games and will move on to face the Blackhawks in the second round of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
This will be the third straight year the teams have seen each other in the postseason, so you can expect a very intense series here.

Carey Price, G, Montreal Canadiens: Likewise advancing yesterday in their first-round series against the Senators were the Montreal Canadiens. They picked up a 2-0 win thanks to Price’s 43-save shutout. His strong effort helped the team push through the first round 4-2.
The Canadiens will now wait until the Red Wings and Lightning finish their series; Detroit’s up 3-2 in that one, and Game 6 is going down tonight in the Motor City.
So ends a storybook season for Ottawa, who was out of playoff position by 14 points back in February, yet fought their way back to a 23-4-4 mark to cruise into the first Wild Card spot in the conference. They’re going to be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
