The Calgary Flames look to break in to the win column against the Anaheim Ducks at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Beating the Anaheim Ducks has been a rare occasion for the Calgary Flames and doing it at the Honda Center has been a lesson in futility. That lesson continued Sunday night in a 3-0 defeat that has the Flames staring at an 0-2 deficit in the series with game three scheduled Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Flames fell behind early in this one but did not lose their composure as they took the game to the Ducks at times. However the Ducks scored late and added an empty net tally as the Flames couldn’t solve Frederik Andersen despite a solid 30 shot attack. Karri Ramo was a bright light in his first playoff start with a 31 save effort albeit a losing one.

For some reason the Anaheim Ducks have played the Calgary Flames extremely tough and that trend continued Sunday night with their 21st straight win against their Western Conference foe which was more importantly meant a 2-0 series lead. The Ducks routed the Flames 6-1 in the series opener and seemed poised to duplicate that effort with a 20-9 shot advantage in the first period before Calgary settled down and was the aggressor after that. However Matt Beleskey’s first period tally held up until Hampus Lindholm scored with under nine minutes left with Nate Thompson adding an empty net tally. In between the first and second goal it was the Frederik Anderson show as he recorded 30 stops for his first career shutout in the postseason.
Anaheim Ducks are 6-0 in their last 6 vs. a team with a winning record and are 4-0 in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record while going 6-0 in their last 6 road games. The under is 6-0 in Flames last 6 Tuesday games while the Flames are 5-0 in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and are 5-0 in their last 5 home games. The home team is 42-10 in the last 52 meetings and the over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Calgary while going 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. I'm waiting on goalies but I would think Ramo has earned another start. The Flames looked good in game two so I'm on the fence right now so please check back...
