The Anaheim Ducks shoot for another win in the Western Conference finals against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Chicago Blackhawks were supposed to be too fast at the offensive end for the Anaheim Ducks but for one day the shoe was on the other foot in a 4-1 loss in game number one of the Western Conference finals. The speed and talent of the potent Blackhawks attack was neutralized by Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen who faced 33 shots so the Hawks did put some rubber on goal. Unfortunately only one of those shots found the back of the net on Brad Richards wrist shot with less then 40 seconds remaining in the second that cut the Anaheim lead to 2-1. Corey Crawford was charged with three goals on 26 shots to absorb the defeat after coming off of a four game sweep of Minnesota.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Chicago Blackhawks - 5/19/15 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Anaheim Ducks were supposed to face their first real test of the postseason after cruising through the first two rounds but they more then up to the task in knocking off visiting Chicago Sunday. The Ducks didn’t pepper Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford with shots but they made the most of what they had. The key for this team was getting an early lead and keeping this from becoming a score fest. Anaheim has had great success when grabbing an early lead as they stand at 5-0 when scoring first. The Ducks received goals from Hampus Lindholm, Nate Thompson, Jakob Silfverberg and Kyle Palmieri while Frederik Anderson picked up the win with 32 saves.

The Blackhawks are 5-1 in their last 6 overall and the over is 6-1 in Blackhawks last 7 Conference Finals games while Chicago are 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win. The Ducks are 7-1 in their last 8 games and are 5-1 in their last 6 Conference Finals games while the over is 4-1-1 in Ducks last 6 Conference Finals games. The road team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and the Blackhawks are 4-2 in the last 6 meetings while the under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings in Anaheim. No line is out so I will have some time to look at this so please check back…
