NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
May 20, 2015
Each of the series in the conference finals of the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs has played two games, and we’re starting to see how each matchup may end up playing out. While we’re waiting on tonight’s action, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there in the news.
Corey Crawford, G, Chicago Blackhawks: Both conference finals series are tied at 1-1 now, after a barn-burner in Anaheim last night between the Ducks and Blackhawks out West.
Crawford logged a whopping 60 saves on 62 shots in the triple-overtime game, which ended on a Marcus Kruger goal in the third extra session at the 16:12 mark. Crawford’s counterpart Frederik Andersen managed 53 saves in a superhuman effort himself.
This game was characterized by lots of crossbar hits, close calls and missed opportunities. It very easily could have gone either way.
Game 3 shifts to United Center in Chicago tomorrow night.

Now let’s visit with the Rangers ahead of tonight’s Game 3 in their Eastern Conference Final against the Lightning. Yesterday, coach Alain Vigneault said he doesn’t expect to see winger Mats Zuccarello over the team’s next two games.
Zuccarello is coming off what looks to be a concussion, and he started skating on his own early this week. Realistically speaking, he probably won’t be back until late in the series at the very earliest, so if Tampa takes control of things on their home ice, we may not even see Zuccarello at all.
Over the coming days, we’ll likely get a more realistic timeline for Zuccarello’s potential return to the ice, but it’s not looking like it’ll be in the immediate future.
NHL Daily Schedule: Here’s a look at the upcoming games on the NHL schedule, including the start times and TV networks where you can catch each matchup.
