NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
May 23, 2015
The NHL is getting back to business today in the Western Conference Finals portion of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but in the meantime we’ve got plenty of things to talk about when it comes to news around the league. Let’s check out some of the notable players and stats out there.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, New York Rangers: After losing Games 2 and 3 in the Eastern Conference Finals (and allowing a whopping 12 goals in the process), Lundqvist and the Rangers needed to make a big statement in Game 4.
That’s exactly what they did down in Tampa, taking a big 5-1 win over the Lightning and tying the series 2-2. Lundqvist made 38 saves in this one, while Rick Nash finally woke up from his playoffs slumber with two goals and an assist.
Martin St. Louis also got in on the action with his first goal of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, while Keith Yandle contributed a goal and two helpers.
Strangely enough, this was New York’s first win by more than one goal in this year’s postseason.
Game 5 comes tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden.

The Wild made a minor move yesterday, inking left winger Michael Keranen to a one-year, two-way deal.
Keranen logged 70 games at the AHL level this past year, where he posted 10 goals with 27 assists. He looks like he’ll be a higher-end option for the Wild when they need to plug holes in their roster during the 2015-16 campaign.
NHL Daily Schedule: Here’s a look at the upcoming games on the NHL schedule, including the start times and TV networks where you can catch each matchup.
