The Lightning and Rangers will be back at it tonight in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Before we get settled in, let’s check out some of the notable stats and players from around the league.
Jonathan Toews, C, Chicago Blackhawks: This Ducks-Blackhawks series is becoming one for the ages. In Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals last night at United Center, the Blackhawks gave up a whopping three goals in the space of just 37 seconds in what was nearly an epic collapse. It was the second-fastest three-goal span in Stanley Cup Playoffs history.
Chicago was able to rally and force overtime, however, and after two extra periods the Blackhawks finally took it on an Antoine Vermette goal that made the final result 5-4. Toews logged a goal and an assist himself to gain first star honors.
The series is now tied up at two games apiece, with Game 5 coming tomorrow at Honda Center.

Over in the Eastern Conference Finals, Lightning coach Jon Cooper spoke a bit yesterday about sticking with his goalie Ben Bishop in Game 5.
Cooper said he hasn’t even thought about changing net-minders for the next game in the series, even following Bishop allowing five goals in consecutive games for the first time since March of 2011.
For what it’s worth, sitting behind Bishop is rookie Andrei Vasilevskiy, who allowed three goals on 26 shots in his last action, a Game 4 loss to the Canadiens in the second round.
Bishop’s counterpart, Henrik Lundqvist, allowed 12 goals in his team’s two losses, but was able to bounce back with a sterling effort in Game 4 to help the team even the series at 2-2.
