The Honda Center will be rocking when the Anaheim Ducks host the Chicago Blackhawks Monday.
The Anaheim Ducks had an opportunity to take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win at the United Center in game four but Chicago instead evened the series at two games apiece with a 5-4, two overtime victory. Both teams scored three times in the third before the defenses settled down in the first extra session. The Ducks received goals from Emerson Etem, Corey Perry, Ryan Kessler and Matt Beleskey while Frederik Andersen gave up all five goals on 40 shots. Anaheim had dealt the Blackhawks their first home loss in game number three but couldn’t make it two in a row although they still hold the home ice advantage in what is a best of three series.

The Chicago Blackhawks avoided falling in to a 3-1 series hole by edging Anaheim at the United Center to knot their series at 2-2. The Blackhawks and their vaunted offense finally came to life just as many thought the Ducks were gaining the upper hand in play. Antoine Vermette was the offensive hero with his tally at the 5:37 mark of the second overtime to make a winner of Corey Crawford who recorded 47 stops in the victory. Brent Seabrook and Patrick Kane also lit the lamp for the Hawks while Brandon Saad added a goal and a pair of helpers followed by Jonathan Toews with a goal and an assist. The Blackhawks did own a 3-1 lead in the third before Anaheim took a 4-3 lead before tying it on Kane’s marker with just over 7 ½ minutes to play.

The under is 2-0-2 in Ducks last 4 home games and is 4-1-1 in Ducks last 6 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game while the over is 3-1-2 in Ducks last 6 vs. Central. The under is 3-0-2 in the last 5 meetings in Anaheim and theBlackhawks are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Anaheim while the under is 19-6-2 in the last 27 meetings. No line out so I’m waiting to see how big a favorite Anaheim will be…
