The Ducks will get a chance to put away the Blackhawks tonight in the Western Conference Finals of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, but before we get to that, let’s check out some of the headlines from around the league.
Derick Brassard, C, New York Rangers: The Rangers needed a win yesterday to avoid elimination and force a Game 7 in their Eastern Conference Finals series, and that’s exactly what they did.
Brassard came up big here, logging three goals and two assists as the Rangers used a big third period to overcome the Lightning in Game 6, winning 7-3.
Henrik Lundqvist was big as well, saving 36 of 39 shots. J. T. Miller managed a goal and three assists.
The game was close most of the way; New York held a slim 2-1 lead until 3:02 into the third, then the floodgates opened for three straight goals by the Rangers, who never looked back.
In the three games in Tampa Bay this series, the two teams have combined for a whopping 27 goals.
A decisive Game 7 will be Friday night at Madison Square Garden. The winner will go to the NHL Finals.

It’s not all bad news for Tampa, though. Center Cedric Paquette sat out last night’s Game 6, but is in line for a potential return to the ice in Game 7.
Paquette is dealing with an injury but was able to participate in the morning skate yesterday. He’ll get a couple of days to rest before Friday’s big matchup.
