The Tampa Bay Lightning look to even their series with the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.
The Tampa Bay Lightning appeared to be on the verge of winning the Stanley Cup finals opener and maintaining the home ice advantage before the Blackhawks struck for a pair of late goals to win 2-1. The Lightning drew first blood just over 4 ½ minutes in to the first when Alex Killorn redirected a shot from Anton Stralman past Corey Crawford. However that was the only highlight for the high scoring Bolts who could muster just 23 shots on goal. Ben Bishop was denied his third whitewash of the postseason with a 19 save performance in a losing effort and now must avoid an 0-2 hole to the dangerous Blackhawks who proved once again they can not be effected by a hostile crowd.

The Chicago Blackhawks and their potent attack were held in check for nearly 55 minutes in the Stanley Cup finals opener at Amalie Arena. However the Blackhawks proved a game is never over until the final buzzer when they burned Tampa Bay for a pair of tallies in the final 6 ½ minutes of the contest. After the Lightning took an early lead the Hawks defense controlled the amount of rubber that reached Crawford and avoided falling behind even further. Teuvo Teravainen drew Chicago even with his hard shot from the left circle beat Bishop before Antoine Vermette’s wrist shot found the back of the net less then two minutes later to stun the Lightning and the home crowd. Corey Crawford recorded 22 stops to get the win and steal home ice in the process.
The over is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 Saturday games and is 5-0-2 in Blackhawks last 7 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game while Chicago are 4-0 in their last 4 Stanley Cup Finals games. The under is 4-0-1 in Lightning last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and is 6-1-1 in Lightning last 8 Saturday games while Tampa Bay are 6-1 in their last 7 games playing on 2 days rest. The Blackhawks are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Tampa Bay and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while Chicago are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings. I’m looking in to this further but Chicago looks tempting at plus money…
