The Chicago Blackhawks look to even their series with a win on home ice against the Tampa Bay Rays.
After falling to visiting Tampa Bay in game number three I think the supposed edge the Chicago Blackhawks have in experience along with their depth means very little to the Lightning. A 3-2 defeat Monday resulted in a loss of home ice and a 2-1 series deficit. The Blackhawks didn’t lack opportunities as they peppered Ben Bishop with 38 shots. The Hawks received goals from Brandon Saad and Brad Richards while Corey Crawford recorded 29 stops in absorbing the defeat. Chicago took a 2-1 lead in the third but it was short lived with Tampa Bay scoring the equalizer a mere 13 seconds later.

The Tampa Bay Lightning received a huge boost when goalie Ben Bishop was able to play in Monday’s game three at the United Center and despite suffering from some type of injury he was clearly at the top of his game with a remarkable 36 save performance. The Blackhawks peppered the Lightning netminder but he was up to the task and his offense didn’t let him down with a pair of third period tallies. Cedric Paquette scored the game winner with 3:11 left in regulation and the Bolts survived the last 1:42 when Chicago pulled Crawford for the extra man. Ryan Callahan and Ondrej Palat also lit the lamp with Victor Hedman adding a pair of helpers.
The Lightning are 6-1 in their last 7 Wednesday games and the under is 4-1 in Lightning last 5 road games while going 4-1 in Lightning last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The over is 5-1 in Blackhawks last 6 overall and 5-1 in Blackhawks last 6 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 while Chicago are 4-1 in their last 5 Stanley Cup Finals games. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Chicago and the home team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while the Lightning are 7-2 in the last 9 meetings. I didn’t know if Bishop was playing in game three and I don’t know what his status is for game four so check back when a line is out…
